im writing an essay on pessimism.it's a trend.even Hollywood commercialises it with apocalyptic movies like War of the Worlds,The Happening etc.ppl are also more in favour of the pessimistic attitude rather than the optimistic one,partly because philosophers (Modern and post-Modern ones esp) view pessimism as an essential attitude to living life and this causes us to think of the future as a bleak one.
